Christmas is on it's way - are you ready with your Costume?

Are you ready for Christmas?
Parties are coming up and it is the second busiest time of the year for Fancy Dress (after Halloween!)

For Kid's its simple, there's the Frozen Olaf Snowman costumes everywhere now and you can get a cheaper version online anywhere and don't forget the Nativity Classics.

By the way - if you are looking for a Frozen Girl's costume but don't want to splash the cash and use it for the Christmas Play as well I have a Mary costume that can double as an Elsa dress with silver star detail (perfect!) not to mention the fairy costumes and snowflake Princess outfits that are all good for a Christmas and Frozen Party!

When it comes to the grown ups, well that's a little trickier. You can go for all those sexy Santa costumes but if you don't fancy that why not just accessorize? You can dress up without feeling a fool or feeling too over the top. It's easy.

Don't worry Ladies - it is okay if you don't want to dress up in a full costume this Winter. I know it's just not everyone's thing. Why not grab a headband and some gloves put on your favourite Black Dress and you are ready for the Christmas Party! - your welcome ;)

Tricksterina - The Harley Quinn Bad Girl Costume

WOW! Well I have been so busy I haven't been able to Blog. With Halloween next week it's nearly time for the rush to be over. We have sold out of most of our costumes but have managed to get hold of more Tricksterina Costumes. They are a black and white ladies sexy circus clown costume great for multiple occassions.

With 6 pieces they are a firm favorite amongst my lovely customers. I think this is because they come with a headband headdress, choker, corset, tutu and stockings AND and ankle bracelet.

With all these accessories you have a full costume and just need to worry about your hair and make up because there is nothing else you need to get.

One month til the big Halloween events!

Time flies, I have been so busy sorting out all our new Halloween lines. As I have covered at the beginning of the month the Clowning Around collection is by far my favorite. Although there are some top contenders now available.

Family Vampire Costume idea
We have already sold out of some of our Girls costumes - Vampire Queen (don't worry I have put in another order for more) and the Queen of Darkness is close behind. Why not go as a family costume? Some creepy Vampires would be a hit. We even had a Teen costume for your girls, go as a Va Va Vampire and our women's adult version would be the Sexy Black Widow with long velour dress and cobweb detailed sleeves.

Your undead family will look great at the Halloween Scare Fest! Don't forget the fellas outfits, we have more this year than last with an increase of interest from our male customers. Including the Deranged Jester and the Halloween classic Phantom of Darkness.

The range of costumes I have commented on today are "all in one" outfits, add some accessories to make them stand out more, maybe some weapon props too. But generally they do not need additions - they kit you our from head to toe without worrying that you need extra's.

Halloween is on it's way!

So its the beginning of September and for all of us in the Fancy Dress world that means the Halloween stock is fast arriving. I picked a large selection a few months ago that I think is going to be massive this Halloween.

My top costumes are the Pop Neon Witch Costume and Tricksterina Costume - check them out here:



Both these costumes are my top picks as they look great, feel great and come with so many accessories. The Pop Neon Witch comes complete with Hat, Stockings, Gloves and great fitting dress. The black parts are stretchy body-con so it flatters all figures - with thick straps at the top it will hide your bra straps and the silky bodice and skirt bring an extra life to the outfit. If you are looking for a cute fancy dress option this Halloween this witch is a great option and can be used for another fancy dress occasion especially as a "Good Witch" character.

The Tricksterina includes headband with headpiece attached. Collar with bell detail, gloves, stockings, ankle cuff and body fitting dress with corset attached to two-tone tutu. Add some black make up and killer heels and be a creepy jester ballerina at the party.

The #BlueDuck army is coming! You can tune into Nottingham's very own local News Station dedicated to all things Nottingham. As we are based in Cotgrave we will definitely be tuning in here at Fancy Dress VIP.

Zapper Super Hero Morphsuits

Morphsuits have recently brought out a range of "digital zapper" suits for Fancy Dress costumes. In the styling of our favorite super heroes. With full face masks included Morphsuits are renowned for having amazing suits that you can breathe and drink through (if you want to that is!)

Now I wouldn't say these costumes are a cheap alternative at the Party - but they are fantastic and well worth a look! Starting at £42.49 these are SUPER high quality costumes and will last wear over and over, the latex means that they can fit most sizes and shapes depending on how tall you are.

The Zapper technology means you can take photos or videos of your friends (who are wearing the costumes) and they will look like they are using the Super Heroes special powers! All you have to do is download the app onto your iPhone, Android or Tablet and then turn the app on and take photos or videos! Great fun at a Party and an amazing novelty. I would love to see 5 people in one of each of these great costumes at a Party!

Fancy Dress at Museums to make it more engaging for visitors....

So recently I went to a Museum recently and they are just not what I remember as a child. Exhibitions and museums are not exclusively for children or the younger generations but lets be honest they are ultimately the easiest way for younger people to learn and interact with History on a more engaging level.

My favorite museum as a child was "The Tales of Robin Hood" maybe more of an attraction than education center but we did learn from the place. One of the most notable things about this center that I remember is the tour guides. They were always in full Fancy Dress Costumes. Head to toe Robin Hood, complete with Swords, Hats, Boots the lot!

This made the whole experience more enjoyable for everyone and encouraged the children to speak to the tour guides and ask questions about everything - there dress, the time period. I cant understand that when I go to similar places now this idea has gone.

For an easy way to make you're educational experience an engaging, memorable and fun one grab some costumes! It will make such a difference in the hearsay about the place and get people talking about it!

Egyptian exhibit? Grab a Cleopatra costume.

Medieval themed? We have a Robin Hood Ladies costume that is suitable for the era and our favorite Brave Crusader Knight outfit for men which is great for those Guard guides!

Caveman or Prehistoric? Get a full costume from us with a tunic, head tie, wrist cuffs and leg warmers too, this Caveman costume is a favorite in general in our store as well.

Greek or Roman museum? We have a great Caesar costume and an even better Gladiator outfit that has really realistic features, we also have a Ladies Gladiator too.
